The latest update to my Sony Bravia Plex app no longer has the Convert Automatically option. How do I get it back? For files that stutter this would always fix them. Now, even if I downgrade the quality, it still stutters. Never had this issue before. Is it possible to roll-back to the previous version? Clearly based on user feedback you’re getting, this last update is not progress, rather its regress. Rather than denying user feedback, acknowledge it and own up to the problems. It’s called accountability. Allow users to roll-back to the previous TV app version while you fix the new. Now, if the business decision was to force users to other platforms, then based on what I’m reading on-line, you’ve succeeded.
Stutter isn’t quite the right work… It’s really just dropping frames. I have a TV show that this happens with as well, and I use Convert Automatically to fix it. Yes, you could use Handbrake or similar to fix the file, but it’s not worth the time for me when it’s so easy to just click an option on during playback.
The Bravia uses Google TV, right? Yes, in theory you should be able to install an earlier version of the Plex client… But that assumes you can set the TV to NOT auto update apps.
