Copy Plex metadata back into the files?

I appreciate the input on correcting how Plex sees the media it has imported. Here then is the question.
Given that Plex has gone out and downloaded correct metadata, and I have gone through and corrected any known errors, is there a way to rewrite the files with the correct data so that if they are used out of my Plex that they are now correct?

I could try to invest time in another solution to duplicate all of the work in Plex, but it seems it would be much simpler to take my known good data and push it back on the files.

No, that is not possible.
The general Plex philosophy is to not touch your media files.

May I ask what you are correcting?

Generally, there are files which are not being identified.

The reason I came across this thread was to address “.” and other miscellaneous errors not being corrected.

Generally, that has improved, but the files are still dirty.

My general direction is to convert, clean and try to optimize my collection.

It would be great to think of Plex as something other than an island on to itself once this work has been done.
