Adding to this as I have never had it running properly. Yes, there were times when the tuner actually started and showed a stream only to fail with the “could not tune channel” message when switching to the next channel. However this was a lucky occurrence and my WinTV-dualHD has been idle since I bought it 2 years back to use with Plex.

Here is my system data in case it helps:

OS: Win Server 2016 running in a VM
Plex: Version 1.24.4.5081
Tuner: WinTV-dualHD
XML TV used for guide
WinTv8 SW uninstalled from the host as I saw that this could case issues

Live TV & DVR Configuration: works fine, all 6 channels we have here are found.
Signal strength could be better but it shows up

Starting a live stream from Windows 10 app or web browser will result in a long loading cycle followed by:

While the channel tries to load the Plex DVR settings show that one runner channel is engaged (light changes).

Idle mode
While trying to access the channel

Yup I have VBox xti 3442.
Some channels work fine while some through up the errors

All stream fine when not through plex

You mentioned mtu size is set to 1500

Could you follow the steps here to see if it should be reduced from that

Starting with 1462 do this command in command line window

ping 8.8.8.8 -f -l 1462

if ok then add 10

ping 8.8.8.8 -f -l 1472

and continue adding 10 at a time until you get this error
Packet needs to be fragmented but DF set.

and set then mtu size to be the highest number that did not return this

and then try out the tunes and see if we still get error 52 in the logs

I have the same VBoxx and i have problems tunning into channels. From what i can figure out it the problem appears to be on the url parsing, i.e.:

url src="http://192.168.4.210:55555/B1 ← this works perfectly and Plex is tunning in (any channel that has the naming like this works - no spaces in the name)
src="http://192.168.4.210:55555/History%20Channel ← this will make Plex not tune into the channel showing an error (any channel that has a space in the name will have this behavior)

I suspect that Plex isn’t parsing correctly the “%20” (Space) special character since the error happens only on the channels that have a “Space” in the name. You can see the same behavior in the other users logs (all the channels with “%20” special character failed tuning in).

Thank you very much for the investigation. I arranged to get one of these vbox DVRs to try it. I will like to see the list of channel identifiers returned by the vbox

The logged errors from @nickelslol also had errors for requests not relating to specific channels - eg this

Thanks, apparently i loose all packets when pinging outside my network with that, i have internet connectivity

OK - instead of the -f argument, try the -i interval (1 second intervals)

 ping 1.1.1.1 -i 1 -c 4 -s 1452
 ping 1.1.1.1 -i 1 -c 4 -s 1462
 ping 1.1.1.1 -i 1 -c 4 -s 1472
 ping 1.1.1.1 -i 1 -c 4 -s 1482

The logs I analyzed and summarized outcomes here Could not tune channel. Please check your tuner or antenna - #265 by sa2000 do not show consistency
eg this channel “10 HD_1” appeared to tune sometimes and fail at other times
