So I had to remove my server and now after installing and uninstalling SEVERAL times still nothing. I even tried creating a new server with no luck! This is so fn frustrating! And yes there is NO ONE to talk to! Great customer service! I need some answers and I need them today or I am cancelling my premium service . This is absolutely BS!
So, simply post details of the problem rather that just complaining and you have a better chance of getting help. You cannot expect help if you give no one enough info about exactly what is going wrong to even make a guess about the cause.
What more details do you need? Here’s my problem as I mentioned before… my server just randomly disappeared with all of my external hard drives and everything Plex related plugged into that computer! How does it disappear? I then installed the new update and then uninstalled then reinstalled several times! Yet nothing! Why is this so hard to connect? I even signed in as a different user yet no server available to create. Please give me direction because everything I’ve done on your website hasn’t helped. I am not a techy person either FYI.
Also you might want to show a little empathy to the customer next time. Your reply makes me want to drop my membership without question. I pay good money for this so I expect it to work!
Thanks,
Doug Toenes
I am just a user like you I was trying to tell you that more details are needed to get help! You have not even said what operating system you use or what, if any, errors you are seeing.
Personally I REALLY do not give a DAMN if you get help or not but because of your attack directed at me I will not be even trying to help you any more.
And it looks like you included SPAM at the end of your last post so that is another strike against you.
Bye!
Oh, I REALLY hope you do cancel your membership and stop using Plex or these forums as then I will not even have to see your inane posts again!
You have 1 topic created, 1 post(so this topic, and this one response)
Does not seem like you attempted to get help before you went on a rampage.
Sorry to get you so riled up and I am new to the forum so excuse my anger. I am sorry I didn’t realize you were just helping so I apologize. I don’t know what I need to include details wise. So you assuming I knew what to ask didn’t help either. I will definitely look to help from others. Thanks and sorry to come off harsh.
Maybe try something like this next time….
Sorry to hear about your issues let’s look at this first.
Not trying to go on a rampage at all. I just need some help!! Obviously this is my first time and I am getting attacked for being frustrated. I guess everyone on here knows everything so I should as well. Sorry.
Thanks,
Doug Toenes
Please explain in more detail. What did you have to remove?
The machine?
or the plex server software?
Where do you run plex server? Platform, operating system?
Please see
https://support.plex.tv/articles/201643703-reporting-issues-with-plex-media-server/
Side note: please respond in your web browser, not per email.
Your email footer is kinda spamming this forum.
When it kept saying no server available there was an option to “remove server” I selected that. Once I did that I went in and removed/uninstalled the software and then went back to the website and installed the new update for the server. Still no luck.
You still have not posted any details about your server… Are you running a Windows Server, a linux server, or a NAS. What do you have Plex installed on?
Did you set up your router to port forward the ports Plex needs?
My Plex server is running in a docker container on Open Media Vault v4.0.
Lenovo laptop Windows 8 I believe.
AT&T setup my Router and connections I just have a hard wire chord to my laptop.
Where do you have your movies stored?
On the laptop?
Would you please not answer per email? I have to remove your email footer from every message you posted in here.
On external hard drives
Please perform this procedure:
https://support.plex.tv/articles/204281528-why-am-i-locked-out-of-server-settings-and-how-do-i-get-in/
How do I get to where I need to run that command In windows 10?
Tap on your Windows key
type regedit.exe
Enter
Still says “looking for servers” after I login and the orange circle keeps going around.
Is your server actually running?
Did you deinstall it at some time?
Please shut down Plex Server with its tray icon.
download the attached file nosecureconns.zip (363 Bytes)
open it and double click on the plex.reg file in the archive
confirm the question that you want to let it make changes to the system configuration
Reboot your server machine
Upon login, make sure Plex server is running (look for the tray icon)
Wait 2 minutes
Fetch server log files.
https://support.plex.tv/articles/200250417-plex-media-server-log-files/
(Scroll down to ’ Manually Finding Log Files’)
And please don’t attach the log files to an email. The attachment won’t arrive here in the forum. Drag it into the message composer in the forum itself.

I don’t blame you, they are glad to take your money but they are nowhere to be found when you need help.
I have asked for help almost 2 months ago and all I hear is the sound of crickets BAD service
You mean apart from in this thread where @OttoKerner has replied to the ops post in every case ?
