I had a crash tonight and grabbed a log dump right away (maybe one or two minutes after the crash). I have verbose logging turned off, as requested. I looked through the logs and all seems fine, so I could use some help. I was cromecasting a tv episode when it happened.
Anyone see anything interesting in here? I do see some warnings about slow queries, but those seem to be related to metadata scanning.
I tried playing it again, and it stopped at exactly the same spot. I then tried watching it from the web browser and it played fine.
My plex server is an 8-core i7 running Ubuntu.
The two log files here are from two separate crashes, each within a minute or two of the crash event.
Thanks in advance!

While I don’t see any evidence of a hard crash, I do see a huge number of LPE events.
LPE is the Local Path Evaluator. Seeing this tells me PMS has record of a file which has disappeared out from underneath it without warning.
This shows to you as ‘Unavailable’. If it happens when streaming, streaming will halt abruptly
Since I cannot see your media storage configuration, I suggest
- Verify all your media stably mounted.
- Update the Library containing the file you were playing. See if anything ‘disappears’.
- If it does, now you have a place to look. Check the media paths you’ve included in that Library and start verifying everything is as it should be

I guess I should have been more clear regarding the “crash” symptoms. By “crash” I meant I was watching the show when it suddenly stopped playing and the next show queued up to start playing. Like the video was only 3.5 minutes long. I have tired playing it from the browser and it plays fine that way.
To address your comments, it is an internal hard drive and I don’t have any other issues with it (ubuntu isn’t complaining about it), so I feel like the drive is healthy. Is there a way to get more information about the LPE incidents? Do we even know for sure it is related to the same library in which my problem video is located? Could the LPE be related to a different item in a different library?
You suggested that I “update the library”. I looked at the “three dot hover menu” next to the library and there is not an option to update it. I did “Scan Library Files” and then emptied the trash.
Anyway, I went to try it again after I did that and it played fine. Strange. It crashed four times yesterday. Maybe the rescan and emptying the trash helped???
Yes. LPE errors (Local Path Evaluator) indicate PMS wasn’t finding files where it was expecting them. The scan / update put everything back to right
