Can confirm the same on 2 fire stick 4k, didn’t have the problem on my 4k max oddly. Tried 10.19.0 and 10.19.1 both gave the same experience, constant crashing as soon as the app opens. Installing 10.18.1 fixes the problem.

I’m on 10.19.1.1166 here on a Fire Stick 4K Max (first gen) and have not had any issues with excessive crashing.
Protip: In the Downloader app’s built-in browser, add bookmarks for the Plex Android Release Thread, and the Android TV Beta Release Thread. Then, in the future, you can just jump to it and navigate to the post to get the download link without typing anything.

10.19.0 here same issue multiple crashes from either navigating menus or from playing media for more than 2-3 minutes. Happening across 5 different Firestick 4k (1st generation).
Tried uninstalling and reinstalling same version from the firestick store and it seems better at the moment.

Affecting me too!
As of three days ago, the Plex app repeatedly force closes on two different Firesticks (4k 2nd gen) on two different TV’s.
However, the Plex app works fine installed directly on a Samsung TV. It is also fine on Android phones.
Did we identify the issue and is there a resolution?
As stated above could you please provide your Fire TV logs? We are currently unable to reproduce the crash so logs can help us better troubleshoot the issue.
We have made a back-end change that may fix the issue. You may need to kill the app or restart your device for the change to take effect. Please update us if you don’t see any changes.

This seems to have fixed the issues for me. I’m running the version from a default AFTV install (10.19.0.1142) and libraries are loading promptly immediately after load where it used to often hang and fail especially after stick restarts or cold starts. I stress tested with big jumps forward and backward on super high bitrate 4k HDR media with no crashes like before. Subtitles working great. Menus normal. It feels snappy and stable compared to before. Very optimistic that these annoying issues have been addressed by your backend fix, thanks!

Still occurring for me on my Fire Stick. As the thread notes since a few days ago the Fire Stick Plex app just started crashing on opening and browsing. I’ve just now force closed the app, cleared cache and still the app crashes on browsing.

Plex app crashes before I can get to this:
Settings > Advanced > Network Logging and turn ON the setting

Also getting this very often now. Sometimes rebooting the fire TV fixes it for a little while. Sometimes it doesn’t.
If I can repro with logs, I’ll pass them along

I notice it logs a lot of failing to reach analytics.plex.tv. I added that to my pihole’s allowlist just now in case it was causing issues. … though it shouldn’t be that… hopefully.

Happening to me on multiple fire sticks around the house.
Plays sometimes for a few seconds to a few minutes, but keeps crashing.
It’s unusable.

Confirmed. The latest release worked again on the previously failing AFTV.
Not resolving it for any of mine… 
Fixed it at the time. Today the problems are back with constant crashing.

I’ve the same issue, about 3-4 days ago!
All firestick have this problem right now. My 2x firestick at home do the same. My friend have a firestick, do the same. My mother have a firestick too, same problem.
To use firestick now, i need to continue to let my plex restarting and go back to my movie.
The crash for the first time it’s about 30 sec after i open plex, crash to Amazon Home Page. I reopen plex, now after 30 sec, that just restart Plex, i reopen it, choose my media file i want to check and crash after maybe 2 min, and continue to choose my media, crash after 4-5 min, etc…
Do the same again and again and after 6-7x crash, the plex is working more longuer before crashing like 1h-2h after that no more crash until you close your tv and firestick.
You have to do this all the time you reopen your tv… Really Annoying!
We have released a hotfix that should resolve the issue. It may take some time to roll out to everyone but if you want here is a link to the build for Fire TV

Crashes are back. For some hours it was stable, but then it happened again. Please stop playing around …
Did install an old release 10.18.1 with “Send files to TV” on all AFTV releases. Will not update Android releases that early again.
