Creating a 2nd new server - Orig. Server, I am not the owner

Previously I was a user on a plex server owned by my brother - I still use this server when I am at my parent’s place.

I have now purchased my own lifetime plex pass so I can create my own server at my apartment.

I cannot for the life of me, figure out how to create the server and be able to control it on my own, PLEX keeps trying to login to my Brother’s server no matter what I do!

At one point I saw the “claim this server” button, but it disappeared.

Do I need to ask my brother to make me an owner on his server?

Should I have him delete my account from the server and just create a new one that I log into when I’m there?

Is there any way for me to have access to my own server I control and log into that server?

Are you part of your brother’s Plex Home? If so, you will need to leave it. He can still share libraries with you. You’ll be listed as a Friend, not a Home User.

He will have to make the change in Users & Sharing: https://app.plex.tv/desktop#!/settings/users-sharing

Update: Check Users & Sharing using your Plex account login. I think you can choose to leave his Plex Home (no need to wait on your brother to make the change). I was able to do so on my server with a test account. The account reverted to a Friend. It was not deleted from the system.
