Hello all,

I recently switched primary accounts for my plex server. The old account previously was the owner of the home and plex server, however I am seemingly unable to set my new account as the owner of our home/server. I would like to modify and create some new local users to use, however the option is not there.

The old plex account has been deleted, though it has not been 30 days yet. Is there any way for me to claim this server with my new account? I have gone so far as to completely wipe the system and reinstall Windows and Plex.

The problem is that you deleted the account of the Home owner first.
If you’d have left the Home first and only then deleted the account, everything would be in order.

Deleting all your server data wouldn’t have been necessary in any case. The procedure Why am I locked out of Server Settings and how do I get in? | Plex Support can be used to re-claim an existing server with a different user account.

I will ask a developer to free your account from the old Home. This may take a few hours at least.
