Curious about plex pass

I havent seen a way to send an email or chat with support and i dont have a plex pass so i cant ask there. I am curious though, when it comes to recording local tv channels with plex pass how would i go about that? I assume i would need a device on my end that would stream said channels to the plex cloud right? Something like the hd homerun prime?

Take a look at the FAQ:

As well as the rest of the DVR support docs as these should cover most/all of your questions

Thank you. Looks like i would be SOL nearly in totality because my local provider encrypts everything ( hence we now need a small cable box even for locals ) used to be i could just connect the cable to my tv and i could watch the digital channels.

Well i ended up buying a hdhomerun since i was able to find one for decent money on ebay. Seems like there is a lot of confusion out there in terminology. All the channels from comcast in my area are indeed encrypted. However there is a distinct difference between encryption and DRM. DRM channels seem to pretty much only work on microsoft products right now. Encrypted channels are de-encrypted by the cablecard and after the cablecard they are easily viewed by nearly anything i can connect on my network. It might seem nitpicky because DRM and encryption are normally used in conjunction but there is an important distinction, similar to calling an ethernet frame a packet.
