Custom Profile not working since updating to DSM 7

Player Version#: 5.23.1

My plex was working fine under DSM 6 and I thought my migration to DSM 7 went fine, however I’ve found that some videos which were previously working using a Custom Profile are now not finding my Custom Profiles and are using “an augmented profile Generic” and transcoding when not necessary.

I’m not sure if its a problem in the identification of the device which may have changed, or if it’s a file access problem on my NAS.
I found some instructions which I’ve followed, but have found some difference in the privileges on the files that I’ve got and the files in the instructions, though I’ve followed them when migrating,:

I see:
-rwx------+ 1 PlexMediaServer PlexMediaServer 1604 Sep 4 22:11 ‘[LG] webOS TV OLED55B7V-Z.xml’

Instructions suggest:
-rw-r–r-- 1 PlexMediaServer PlexMediaServer 1935 May 15 21:18 ‘Panasonic Viera 3D TV.xml’

I don’t know if that matters, but please help! It took me a while to get the profiles I use correct 2 years ago and just want things to work as they did

Thanks for the quick response.
I’ve updated to that version and been playing around with files in that new location. My Owner and Group are set correctly, but I’m not sure about Permissions. I don’t have a numeric value.
I have full Read / Write on the files for PlexMediaServer, but still getting the augmented profile Generic on both my TVs which were previously using custom profiles

Wow, I didn’t know Plex stopped using these custom profiles.
Must have just been a coincidence that I’ve played TrueHD files for the first time in a while since my upgrade.
The file I’ve tried worked fine through Plex when I last watched it and still works fine today when on a USB stick plugged into the telly. I really don’t want to fuss around with Plex as a DNL:A server - that’s not the experience I use it for.
Oh well. Time to find something else.

If I may add here?

If you had a custom profile in your old Plex share,

Plex/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/Profiles

then the migration to DSM 7 would have brought it along automatically.

There is no filtering in the move.

That having been said, as of 1.24.2.4793, it is fairly easy to install new profiles.
