I think a checkbox for “prefer custom theme music” would be a great addition to the TV Series advanced options.

Instead of being combined with “use local assets”. Checking use local assets also defaults all thumb art back to the default embedded art in the media (MP4 files for example), as opposed to the TVdb art. It would be nice to allow the library to continue to use the Agent info/art but separately tell the library to use a custom theme, if one exists in the root directory of the TV series.

Just trying to understand your use case. You’ve got local assets (e.g. artwork) and want the option for Plex to ignore those while still using the tv show’s theme (theme.mp3) from that folder?

Correct! The artwork is embedded in the MP4 files, so I cannot simply delete the artwork from the directory.

But I want Plex to use the local theme.mp3 file.

Being a “Plex Ninja”, if you have any genius ideas for a workaround, I’d be grateful for the suggestion!

I don’t have a workaround except for using some 3rd party app / script to remove the unwanted embedded artwork (though I don’t have one at hand). Primarily just wanted to clarify if I understood your suggestion correctly.

Ok, thank you, I will look into that as well! Hopefully, this would be an easy add on the Plex side at some point in the future.
