Cutting the Cord

Finally cancelled my subscription with satellite provide and am looking to replace it with something. I have Plex setup and love it so far hence getting the lifetime pass to support further development.

I’m located in Ireland and am looking to integrate a Satellite (DVB-S2) service within Plex. I know the DVR and HDHR service is just launched but they don’t provide a DVB-S2 tuner yet.

Has anyone tried something like the Geniatech EyeTV Netstream 4Sat and managing the records outside of the plex but saving them into a Plex library.

If anyone has any other suggestions I’d love to here them. I know Kodi and WMC support TV but I prefer plex.

I have the EyeTV Netstream 4Sat high up on my wish list for future DVR support. It does nearly everything I would want with 4 satellite feeds, although an additional box with DVB-T2 support would be needed in my setup for local terrestrial channels.

I can see Plex expanding their DVR support once out of beta and EyeTV have a great range of tech, I also hope they update the EyeTV Netstream 4Sat with a DVB-T, DVB-T2 turner too soon.
