Czech EPG not fully working

HI, love the DVR and Live TV, few problems though:

  1. EPG works for only one EPG provider out of all listed - the rest shows only 1 channel in the droplist (looks like some parsing issue on gracenote - probably character set- driven)
  2. even if I select the only EPG source that works now (O2 TV) it works only for channels with english letter (if program has special - non english - letter in it, it will not give the show/movie in right now or upcoming)

Server OS: Ubuntu x64 Lucid
Server HW: 2*quad Xeon, SSD,…
Tuner: HDHomeRun Extended DVB-C
TV provider: UPC

I understand this will be hard to debug and validate, I can provide access to the Plex server to technician if needed.

Could you please help? Thanks

For Gracenote EPG issues report them here You can try a different nearby EPG but sounds like you already tried that.

I believe you can just make you own custom mappings if you want as well.
To setup your own custom XMLTV file use using something like MC2XML try this. Have you looked into any XMLTV providers for your region until this is corrected?

Also for LiveTV you can use other plugins like HDHR Viewer if you use HDHR.

I’ve had good experience with EPG from http://22century.cz/ (register to get EPG URL, then click that orange text offering custom XMLTV when adding tuner in Plex). No need to download it, just paste the URL.

Doesn’t work always. But certainly have more programs and metadata than the most complete built in EPG, O2 TV.
I’m on windows and with Hauppauge WinTV-DualHD, so it may be different for me.

Thank, worked like a charm!

Hope Gracenote will be fixed one day though

I’ve found that EPG from century22 is not complete every day. When it’s good, it has all the channels and about 26MB 11MB. If not, it’s much smaller.
Every day, I download the epg, compare its size, rename it and use that, if it’s good. That way I always have EPG in plex that may be day old, but at least shows what’s on. That’s not a problem, because 22century’s EPG should have 7 days 3 days of future data.

When I try to use 22century Plex gives an error “Cannot read channel mapping” (the wording might be slightely different as I am translating. any ideas?

22century recently started doing authentication in the link. Ie each user have different link, and its going thru some php redirect or something.
Try downloading the EPG file manually and pointing Plex to that file locally.

Here we go again :). Now I know why, just don’t know where to get XMLTV stream for CZ. I tried CVUT one but looks like it does not work properly… http://televize.sh.cvut.cz/xmltv/ps11.xml

Any hint please? Thanks
