Dad's Army (1960's), Dad's Army Lost Episodes (2000)

Server Version#: 1.24.5.5173
Player Version#: 4.70.0

Plex scanner does not seem able to differentiate between the classic Dad’s Army series and the Lost Episodes recorded with actors including Kevin McNally and Robert Bathurst filling the main roles.

Both items show up as separate items on Search, but when scanned they simply overwrite each other and appear as Dad’s Army. This means items for Series 0 and Series 1 appear as Versions rather than as different TV shows, which is how Plex should display them.

I’ve tried a few different variations on the naming, but the problem remains that when Matched the names still mash up both shows into the one listing.

Has anyone dealt with a similar issue

theTVDB has The Lost Episodes as 2019.

Might be worth changing the year in your folders/files to match.

Though before rescanning your library, I would perform the Plex Dance on the The Lost Episodes.

Plex DocumentationYour MediaNaming and Organizing Your TV Show Files

Plex is very picky with TV show naming and structure. Make sure you follow Plex guidelines.

Plex Dance the entire show after renaming/reorganizing.

The below naming & organization works on my system.

If you want to have them appear together, name the Lost Episodes as Specials for the 1968 original. TheTVDB lists them as Specials episodes 45-47.
