Shield Plex Server Version 1.43.2.10687
Windows Client Version 1.112.0.359-0d79a49f
Android Phone Client 2026.9.0
I have Plex running on a Shield 2019 Pro and use it primarily for OTA DVR. I’m behind CGNAT so remote access is not possible except through relay for now (I’m aware of solutions using Tailscale, etc., but haven’t pursued them yet.)
Today I turned off Wifi on my Galaxy phone and opened the Plex client. I was able to view one of my recordings, but it takes a long time to load and stops about every 6 seconds for maybe half a second. I don’t know why, but it is tolerable since I don’t use remote access very often.
I then opened the Windows client on my laptop (on my Wifi so connected directly to the server) and looked at the dashboard. Dashboard shows my phone is playing back a recording, but the blue line on the Bandwidth graph (Remote traffic) is flat at zero. The orange line (Local traffic) shows a steady 11Kbps with spikes to 27Kpbs ever 5-6 seconds (while the phone is playing). When I pause the playback on the phone, the traffic becomes more erratic, bouncing between 0Kpbs to 11Kpbs to 27Kpbs.
Long story short: Why does the blue (Remote) line show zero when I am streaming to my phone over Relay? Why is dashboard showing orange Local traffic when it is all remote? Thanks.
