Database table location on 'WD Mycloud Home' for mass update

I have 1,000’s of photos with lots of metadata information attached to them. As Plex does not use any of this information to help categorise these for viewing, to manually add this data into Plex photo by photo is likely to take many years. Not a task I really want to do.

I’m using a WD Mycloud Home to host Plex, which is simple to use and does require much maintenance. However, this device does not allow you to see the Plex database files as standard.

I would like to update the database tables directly and be able to update records on mass. I’m pretty good on SQL and doing mass updates does not frighten me. Unfortunately, I don’t know how to get at the database on the WD NAS Drive.

Does anyone know how to do this ?

AFAIK, the Mycloud “Home” devices use Android as their Operating System. Because of that, the app data folders are almost inaccessible to the user.
This is the other side of the medal when using Android.

(A while back, I’ve heard about WD planning to migrate existing NAS models to Linux, but I am not sure whether this was ever done. And if, whether it applied to all models or only a select few.)

Pretty much that’s it. You can however get access using SSH, but that voids the warranty and can potentially cause other issues. Look into the WD communities forums for more information.
