I have one TV Show that is date-based. It used to display correctly but when I just went to watch something out of it it no longer is. (I don’t know when it broke, I haven’t tried to watch it in a while).
The show is “Port Charles”. It appears that a handful of episodes have been given entries on TVDB, but not all of them, which is probably causing the problem. The result is each “season” shows up as a whole bunch of date based episodes in order (but with some missing), and then the episodes that are on TVDB in order (the missing ones from the first part).
Is there any way to get my server to ignore the TVDB episodes so everything will sort again? (TMDB isn’t any better, it also has a random number of episodes listed)
When you say it’s not sorting correctly what does that mean? What is actually missing from what you have compared to the TVDB?

What episode order do you have selected? TVDB or TMDB right now? The default for a library that’s been upgraded to the Plex Series Scanner/agent is TMDB.
I have not checked for this specific show, but I have seen on occasion is a show being named according to the TVDB but has TMDB selected as the show order. (or vice versa).
What happens is the episode count is not the same. TVDB has say 20 episodes for one season while TMDB has 15. Every episode beyond episode 15 will not be given a name because there isn’t one to pull using the order you’ve selected
To check the library order, click the 3 dots next to the library

That one is currently using TVDB as its source. The problem is that all the “episodes” aren’t listed on TVDB (they aren’t all listed on TMDB either). I have all my files named according to the rules for “date based” shows. So what happens is as I tried to describe above.

That one with the 1997-06-01 date and the ones after ARE listed on TVDB and they show up as “episode 1… 2… 3” etc. The rest are NOT listed on TVDB and show up first (ending with the 1997-12-31 episode). I should include that there are considerably more episodes than shown in the screen shot. It is a silly soap opera after all. I’ve just screen-shoted the spot where the error is obvious.
So I need a way for Plex to recognize that this is a date-based show and to ignore the episode listing on TVDB/TMDB.
