Delete function delete files! Is there a option that will remove a movie from the library?

The delete function deletes the file, is there a option where I can unlist a movie after viewing without delete the movie itself? There should be a “Remove from Library” option after finishing viewing a movie.

You can disable the media deletion in Settings->Library section. There is an option named ‘Allow media deletion’. You can turn off that.

And, you can unlist specific movies from library by using .plexignore file.

No there isn’t an option to hide a movie just because you’ve watched it. You can use the plexignore option mentioned above, but the better option if you really don’t want it listed it to move the file away from where Plex is looking.

Typically, users just use the play history and watch status to identify which items have been watched. There’s no need to remove watched items from the library - unless that’s what you want to do.

Plex sends (or should send) deleted items to the recycle bin - just in case.
I always use it as the safety net, for errant button clicks or second thoughts on immediate, uncontrollable rage…lol

I achieve this by using the library filter option at the top of the library page:

Set the first one to “Unplayed” instead of “All”. Now you’ll only see the unplayed movies without deleting any movies.

This was via Plex for Mac. I know the Roku client and the Web client allows you to do this as well.

Hope this helps.
