Deleting Mobile Uploaded Pictures

I got Camera Upload enabled and it appears to work. However, I can't seem to find any way to delete pictures once they are uploaded. Is there a way via the app or web gui?

lso, where are there pictures stored? It would have been nice to be able to choose on the server where the pictures would end up.

not sure about the mobile apps but in the web app when a photo is selected at the bottom right next to pencil choose the three dots option menu to select delete ( allow clients to delete media must be enabled in server library settings)

default location https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/203274057-Default-Camera-Upload-Settings

in iOS and android if you pick an existing library. it will put it in the folder that library is looking at

https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/sections/200375063-Camera-Upload

You can delete the photos from your library just like any other library item. See [this FAQ entry](https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/202606363-How-do-I-delete-something-from-my-Library-).

If you use the default "Mobile Photos" library that's suggested to you, the files will be uploaded inside a directory in your main Plex Media Server data directory. You can see info here: https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/203274057-Default-Camera-Upload-Settings

If you want to specify the location where files are stored, you can create your own Photo library on the server and point it wherever you like. In the Camera Upload settings in the mobile app, you then select the appropriate library to use.

If allowing clients to delete, not only will I give myself that ability, but also others. Since I share some of the libraries with family members, I don't want any other than me to be able to delete/alter anything in the library.

So without that enabled, I get the following

we know. but that is the only way to delete anything from any of the apps

If you want to specify the location where files are stored, you can create your own Photo library on the server and point it wherever you like. In the Camera Upload settings in the mobile app, you then select the appropriate library to use.

If I enable Camera Upload in the settings, the Library and Album options get's grayed out. I can therefore not choose anything in there if I enable the Camera Upload.

I added a new folder in the Mobile Photos library that was already made automatically by Plex. I then removed the default directory and saved it. I hope that will work as well. However, once I saved, the pictures already uploaded were removed and the pictures on the phone were not reuploaded. There's no way to initiate the upload as far as I can tell.

Chris,

I have 4 media objects that give Analyze Errors (photos and home videos) and I wanted to remove them to save the Butler time every night

So I deleted manually from the source location for the media - but Days later and many scans later they are still there in the database and show as black objects on the library section folder view

It could be because I am not now emptying trash by default - if this is the case then the Option 1 on the support page How Do I Delete Something from my Library should say that this option only works if trash is emptied automatically

I have no intention of allowing clients to delete media.

And it would be wrong to empty all the trash just for correcting 4 media objects.

When in Plex/Web I click on the deleted photo the revolving circle goes on forever - does not even timeout. Just hangs on this page and never times out

url on screen is

192.168.0.18:32400/web/index.html#!/server/4582ca36b98facf7dc80f4b31d79c870cc9f0b3b/details/%2Flibrary%2Fmetadata%2F40624

in android toward the bottom of settings is "restart camera upload" which will make it upload everything again. should be something similar in iOS

Using the method I previously stated (edit the automatically added library "Mobile Photos" by adding a custom directory and then remove the directory Plex already added) resulted in no pictures uploaded at all when tapping "Restart camera uploads". Maybe I need to add a new library and use the custom directory in there, but this way it did not work.

If allowing clients to delete, not only will I give myself that ability, but also others. Since I share some of the libraries with family members, I don't want any other than me to be able to delete/alter anything in the library.

The ability to delete is only available for the server owner. Shared users won't have the ability to delete even if you enable the server option.

The numeric bullets are an overview of the information that follows. The details that follow already talk about emptying the trash.

I created a new directory in my Home directory (using Ubuntu server) and added that directory to this library. Plex attempt to upload (you can see the prograss bar) but it then silently goes away and no picture is uploaded. I changed the permissions to the directory from the system user to plex (chown plex:plex) but this did not change anything.

It seems to me that using a custom directory is impossible.

You can definitely specify a photos library that you've created (and points at a desired location). The user running the Plex Media Server will definitely need appropriate permissions to be able to create and write files in the directory.

If you're seeing issues, then the best thing to do is to make sure you've enabled debug logging for your server, then restart the server and reproduce the issue. Once you've done that, grab:

 - [Android logs](https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/201573117) (I'm fairly sure you're using Android, at least)

 - Your [Plex Media Server.log](https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/201643703) file

Then *attach* both to a reply here.

Note I think you need to select a folder while camera upload is turned off. When it is turned on you cannot.

I'd like to have the ability to delete photos from the web server interface without turning on allow clients to delete media.

Thank you.&

The Plex Web App is acting as a client there and thus needs the option enabled in order to be available. To be clear, even when enabled, only the account owner is able to delete content. Shared users don't have the option/ability.

The Google Photos app does this now, recognizing the user experience improvement, and I’d very much like for the Plex App to do it.

Hey there,
I would like to allow my wife to delete pictures directly from her photo library and without using my admin account.

For now I gave her my credentials but I’d rather have an option to give her ownership on here photo library and let her add and delete pictures. (she takes a lot and then sort them while reviewing them on phone or xbox).
