Demoting a Windows Domain Controller with Plex Installed

I have Plex Media Server installed on a Windows Server 2016 Domain Controller and I need to demote the domain controller. I was wondering if that will mess up my Plex Server because demoting the DC will remove the domain account that was used to install plex. Anyone done this? Maybe someome has installed plex on a Windows machine and removed the account that was used to install plex? Or is PMS OS system based and not Windows account based?

Plex settings are stored in the Windows user account.
The best strategy would be to move these settings and metadata to a dedicated partition or drive (an SSD preferably) in advance, so they are not affected by whatever operation you have to do with user accounts.

Make sure to save the contents of the Registry as well.

Thank you! It worked perfectly!
