Described Video on Fox TV Series 911

I have been recording the TV show 911 plus many others.
The last several shows have had Described Video (DV) enabled on the TV series 911. No other TV series on any of the over the air signals I receive have DV enabled.
DV is for vision impaired people (blind). There is narration of what is happening on the screen.
Anyone else having this issue?
I have deleted the recording from Plex and enabled it again. No help. Only happens with the FOX series 911.
I am streaming through a Roku Ultimate but this doesn’t appear to be the issue since other Plex recorded shows do not have DV enabled when I watch through the Roku device.
Everything else seems to be working fine.

That should be located in a separate audio track. Before playing one of the recordings, try to change the audio to a different track.

I know there was a problem with SAP being the default audio track once before, this could be something similar.

See if you can get the normal English audio track and let us know.

Thank you for Replying.
I’m an idiot…where do I find/change to a different audio track?

I’m at work, so you’ll have to live with a written description. If you can’t find it, I’ll take a picture of the Roku interface when I’m home for lunch.

When you select the video to play, you’re taken to a screen which shows more details about the video before actually playing it. There should be an option there to select the audio track and then change it.

You are on to something…
I looked at my laptop and saw an audio option and it had Espanol. I changed it to English. I do not have described video playing on my laptop. Not sure if I ever did have DV on my laptop or not. I will verify that. So now I am thinking it is the Roku.

I followed your directions and see the option on the Roku. It was set to English. I changed to Espanol and resumed play…still plays DV audio. Damn it! I thought we had it.

The Espanol track should actually be the one with the DV. Try changing it back to English on the Roku.

I think that did it. I went from English to Espanol and back to English…DV is gone now. Weird.

Thank you for your help. Much appreciated. I would never have figured it out.

No problem! Now that you know what’s causing the issue (wrong audio track is being selected as default), you can try doing a search. May be an easy fix. If not, at least you know how to watch that specific show normally.
