Ok, so today’s update had it working for like a minute, worked after the update, then I went back about 5 minutes ago and the download option is gone again. For my users AND my Admin account.
DAMN IT.
I was only running the windows app, didn’t have the PMS installed was working fine then over the last couple of days I was getting the unexpected error messages and today the download function totally disappeared. I bought a plex pass to get access the the beta as mentioned above but nothing has changed. I can’t download using the Web app I just sync to my android phone, but the sync just hangs.
According to a comment in that GitHub issue (which again, is actually the wrong GitHub repo but they still answered it) this problem should now be fixed and was due to a “configuration issue”, see https://github.com/plexinc/plex-media-player/issues/958#issuecomment-619234890
For those still having issues might be worth going back to trying all the “usual” stuff that wasnt working before (e.g. restarting etc). I asked for more info on GH…
@mooner and @OttoKerner are correct. This has been fixed. It was a problem in one of the app’s dependencies; unrelated to any changes in Plex for Windows|Mac itself.
We’ll be following up on this internally. Although the configuration change was an innocent mistake its results were considerably damaging to the user experience and a core feature of this application.
1.19.2.2702 is on Beta channel…doesn’t solve the issue.
Did you try the plex team’s suggestion above? They said to shut down everything, restart the server machine (not just server) with an active internet connection, then after some time restart the clients. Their explanation was a little vague but seems like you need to get the dependency to download an updated configuration.
Did the restart and now works! Thanks…Plex should test next version make sure its not breaking anything before releasing.
