Despite paying for plex pass, no premium features are available

Hi there, I recently paid for plex pass and cannot access any premium features. Most significant is a complete lack of hardware transcoding options. They’re just absent from the transcode options. Additionally, while it shows me as being a plex pass subscriber in the web player menu, the plex website purchasing page has not registered it. I bought it on iOS if that helps elucidate things.

How can I enable hardware transcoding if the settings will not appear? I’ve checked the support page and everything should be compatible.

It’s running Ubuntu 24 LTS on bare metal with a 8th gen intel chipset.

you sure you got plex pass not watch pass or the plex app fee?

The Plex pass is attached to a certain Plex user account. The one that you were using when you bought it.
It should also show up beside your user name in this forum.

If you actually bought a Plex pass and not one of the aforementioned other things, I’d start by verifying that you are using the right Plex user account. Both for logging into the Plex client, as well as claiming your server.

It charged me and my account sextuspompey is the only account on either of my devices and has claimed the server. In addition, the subscription allows me to watch remotely on mobile. I initially had the $2/mo pass, and this is reflected on my profile, but it will not update despite them taking my money.

Reach out to the billing office.

Provide them with as much info as you can (transaction numbers, etc) so they can follow what happened.
