The idiots that run thetvdb.com have decided to list the new series The Legend of Korra as Avatar: The Last Airbender Season 4 Everyone else correctly lists it as its own series. Is there a way to set this one series in my Animation group to scrape tvrage.com instead of thetvdb.com?
I could also use some help with this… I have read pages of responses on thetvdb.com’s forum, and the mods just reply “Guess how much I care” then close the topic. They have guidelines that they are following, but they don’t seem to understand the difference between the two shows.
For now, my Legend of Korra is just a blank entry, with no pictures. I am not going to go in and change all my file names to match Avatar: The Last Airbender, so it can start at season 4. If I can scan a different database that would be good.
What I don’t understand is why do they allow Naruto Shippuuden to be its own series, but not Korra… Korra is more of a different show than Shippuuden is…
So I figured out a way to fix this. Sorta
I had already installed TheTVDBdvdorder Metadata agent: http://forums.plexapp.com/index.php/topic/21141-dvd-order-agent/page__hl__thetvdbdvdorder
I went into my Plex Media Manager and opened the Agent settings and went to TheTVDBdvdorder and made sure the TVRage checkbox was checked and dragged it to the top.
I then right clicked my mismatched Korra show. Selected “Match using” and selected TheTVDBdvdorder. I then had to search for “Korra” “2012”.
It showed up as The Last Airbender: The Legend of Korra. I went into the metadata for the show and fixed it to be “Avatar: The Legend of Korra”
Maybe TheTVDB will get over themselves at some point and fix this, but till then at least I have a poster and background art for the show. Reading through their forums has really frustrated me this morning! They are not listening to the people posting about them. They just get really frustrated and insult the people posting about it. You can tell they don’t actually watch the show, and just insult it for being a “Kid” show and for not quite being “real anime.” Both of these shows are amazing, and it frustrates me when people just don’t see it.
Sigh, at least I have correct metadata now…
Thanks for this tip, I'll have to do this. I don't have a lot of experience with TVRage Metadata. How does it compare to thetvdb? How the people in charge get the loyalty they do whennthey are so openly hostile to their users, I have no idea...
