I have a library I created for storing all my Music Videos. It is setup as “Other Videos” and plays fine. However, I have gone through and assigned thumbnails for the videos. In the web app, my thumbnails show great (in portrait mode). They also show fine in the Android app. But in the Fire TV app they show a completely different thumbnail (in landscape mode)! Why the inconsistency and is there a way to fix this?
I gave up a couple of years ago trying to make posters for “Other Videos” libraries because of the inconsistent way that the various Plex apps show the image. If they would choose one way or the other, and make that the format for all apps, I would happily re-create posters for my videos. Right now, it’s a waste of time for those of us that go that extra step. It’s been requested/mentioned several times, but I don’t recall an official response.
Maybe this one will get one.
