Difficulty With ESPN 30 for 30 series

Tried all the methods above. The Plex Dance was done exactly as indicated on the Plex Dance link.

  1. MOVE THE FILE OUT OF SITE. I took the folder out completely and placed it on my desktop.
  2. UPDATE LIBRARY. Done from the main page that shows all my libraries.
  3. EMPTY TRASH. Done from the main page as well.
  4. CLEAN BUNDLES. Done from the main page as well.
  5. Made sure the naming scheme was correct. Named exactly as shown above. 30 for 30 - S01E16, and that was in the SEASON 1 folder, and that was in the 30 FOR 30 folder.
  6. Placed the 30 FOR 30 folder into my TV SHOWS (ADULT) folder.
  7. Then UPDATE LIBRARY.

All done in that order.

I’m sure I’m doing everything right. I’m familiar with all the steps. And, after doing this all and everything still staying the same, I think I may have figured out the issue (or at least know where the problem is).

First of all, when I tried the file in another computer with a brand new installation of Plex, it worked fine. But, actually, that was incorrect. Looked at it later and it reverted to the same issue. So, completely different computer, does exactly the same thing.

Then I tried like you said above, took a new virgin video file and named it as per this episode (even though it really wasn’t) and it did the same thing.

If I put any other 30 FOR 30 episodes in their respective folders for the server, they all work fine, and they show up fine. ONLY S01E16 gives me a problem.

Notice, the first series listed above correctly shows a folder for 30 FOR 30. But, while all the episodes properly list in that folder, the only one that does not is S01E16. THAT episode, for whatever reason, creates its own series, called THE TWO ESCOBARS, and places S01E16 in there, in a SEASON 1 folder (the last series listed in the picture above). The naming scheme is exactly the same as the others, no different… tried it WITH & WITHOUT the episode name.

So, here’s where I think the problem is. Not sure if you are familiar with the 30 for 30 series. But, if not, they’re basically documentaries on ESPN. If I look up the individual episodes on the various databases (IMDB, The Movie Database, etc), they all correctly show as an episode of the 30 for 30 series. However, S01E16 also has a listing as its own show, its own documentary, not associated with 30 for 30. So, I think whats happening is that with this episode the server continues to think it is its own documentary (obviously getting the info from one of the databases). And, I have tried all different ways to override, but to no avail.

So… any thoughts or ideas? Could I be right on “why” this is happening? And, if so, any ideas on overriding is greatly appreciated.

Thank you.
