Direct Play video not reported as playing in server dashboard

I am using the “new player”

Since latest version of plex player on Android TV on my Shield TV Pro 2019, sometimes, when direct playing a show, the server does not report it as playing in the dashboard (dashboard of playing sessions is empty) but network graphics show that there is traffic on the local network

Same issue with my 2015 Shield. Tautulli doesn’t show anything playing either and webhooks aren’t firing.

I have Tautulli and the new Plex Dash app too and they also both showed nothing

I have this issue too win10 latest server installed, with 2020 shield latest Plex install, seems most of the time dashboard doesn’t detect activity while playing and the shield doesn’t remember positions or played files, did repair Install on server and remove reinstall plex on shield.

Not sure if anyone is investigating this, but from my testing out of the 5 nvidia shields i have I noticed 2 of them were fine when the other 3 almost always are affected,

Then realised the 3 affected users had enabled the “new” player in options and had the latest versions of plex etc and I was one of them, so I turned the new player off and havent had the issue since (30 plays in about 2 days)

So this issue may be something to do with the new player direct playing without letting the server know or something.
