Plex not showing now playing

Hello, yesterday and today, I have had users start playing a video file. I will get a notification on my android phone that the movie has started playing. I got to my plex dash app and nothing shows that it is playing. I see the bandwidth going up and down and the processor is working. I check the logs, the movie is being playing. Nothing is showing in the “now playing” section. I does not show anything playing on the Web UI, Plex Dash app, or Tautulli app. It does not show anything is playing anywhere, except that the bandwith is showing normal use, and the processor is active. Again, I have checked the log on the plex dash app to see if something is playing. It is.

I have plex pass. This was happening before I updated today (3.14.23). I have restarted the computer as well. Issue still persists.

That could be a bug with the client app. Clients send info on the progress of playback to your server. Dashboard then displays that info. If the client doesn’t send the correct info, then there is nothing to show on the Dashboard. Would need to see logs from the client to check if it is sending the playback info. Then need to see the server logs to check if the send info is being received.

Thanks for your response! I think It might be something with clients, but how could it be with everyone? I had 3 people watching last night. All different devices, I pulled up the logs and I could see their token validation, and see the transcoding information. I could hear my hard drives spinning, and I could see the bandwidth and processor responding. But the Dashboard showed nothing playing.

If it’s the client side, could it be an issue from the different locations, on different devices, on different platforms? I am quite confused on this. I can pull the logs if you think you can see something. Where would I post that?

Please provide me your server logs and the approximate time you noticed this.
