There are six NVIDIA Shields running as remote players off my server, 3 on network and 3 off and none of them are showing in the “NOW PLAYING” on the Plex Dashboard. Additionally, any content that is viewed by a user from these shields is showing as played on the server or any other players or the same shield in a different session. If you stop a movie or TV show in the middle, the point where you left off is not saved and it does not show up in the “continue watching” later, rather the media just shows as unplayed. If the user logs out and logs back in this problem will go away but only temporarily and then the user also must re-setup the shield for their preferences every time they log out and log back in. I suspect there was an update that caused this but don’t know for sure. It only seems to be a problem on my Android TV (all NVIDIA Shields) devices. iOS & Tizen are not affected.
I have the same issue, playing from my PMS 1.19.1.2645 to my Plex for Android (TV) 7.31.0.16802 (on a Shield TV) doesn’t show on the dashboard, nor will an episode get marked watched after you finish it.
Playing episodes from the same PMS on a Plex for Android 7.30.2.16712 (on a Fire HD 8) marks the episodes as watched just fine.
Work-around I found was to restart PMS followed by restarting the Shield TV, doing one of those or in the other sequence doesn’t help. Tonight I restarted PMS followed by the Shield TV and it worked only for one episode. The second episode already was not marked watched.
“Manually” marking episodes as watched works but is a pain.
Add me to the list having this problem. It is very annoying to start what you think is the next episode and have to mark it as played and figure out where you left off. Please fix or address this issue officially so we know what is going on?
I’m having the same problem, items playing on Nvidia Shield are not noted on dashboard of the server and items are not marked as played, nor is progress saved.
