Disable auto update on start

Have an older iMac with macOS High Sierra 10.13.6 which the latest version of Plexamp doesn’t seem to support.

Is there a way to disable the auto update in Plexamp as 4.8.0 seems to work fine.

tried to update ~/Library/Preferences/tv.plex.plexamp.plist

[debug]
disableUpdater=true

but the update prompt still appears when Plexamp starts. Only way around it atm is to disable network connection till Plexamp is running.

Came up with this workaround in the end:

  1. Installed last compatible Plexamp (4.8.0) with High Sierra.
  2. Disconnected Internet and launched Plexamp and exited Plexamp.
  3. Navigated to ~/Applications/Plexamp.app/Contents/Resources/ (right clicked Plexamp in Applications, Show package content).
  4. Reconnected Internet
  5. Renamed “app-update.yml” to “app-update.yml_old”
  6. Launched Plexamp - Autoupdate did not run.
