There haven’t been daily updates in… I don’t even remember if that’s ever been a thing.
If your app tries updating on a daily basis, it seems something goes wrong with those updates.
Can you try manually updating the Plex for Windows app to version 1.35.1 to see if that stops this behavior? You can download that version from the Plex download page: https://www.plex.tv/media-server-downloads/#plex-app
