I’m running plex media server on debian wheezy on my local LAN with an AirPort Extreme. I’ve turned off dnla and I’m wanting to turn off upnp. how do I turn it off or block it from the rest of my network? I turned off something called nat pmp on my router and did nothing. thanks all.

what is it you are trying to achieve? If you've manually setup a mapping with your router, then upnp is off.
my apologies. I’m wanting to use plex myself without letting others have access to my library. at the moment I’m using the web app on my iPad/iPhone. I plan on accessing plex locally and not outside the network. thanks for the quick reply btw.

all you need do is not connect it to myplex
it currently is not, but you see it still shows up on other computers regardless under network in win7. I would like it blocked from other devices and computers and known only to me so I can access it privately. granted if this is indeed possible or it is a question for my network setup. thank you for your input though.

if these machines are on your local network, then you'll need to disabled GDM in the settings - Plex is designed to broadcast to all devices on the broadcast domain on which the server is location, GDM is the broadcast protocol.
great thank you very much. I’m running debian Linux, where might that setting be? I’ll look for myself in the meantime and try it.
I already have DLNA disabled but Plex is still broadcasting UPnP messages (UDP on port 1900).
Check it with:
sudo tcpdump -vv -i eth0 ‘port 1900’
sudo netstat -lpn | grep 62027
How one could disable/stop this broadcast? (this would practically mean to “disable upnp”)
Settings \ Server \ Remote Access \ Manually specific public port. Then Plex will only use that assigned port. if you don’t open it on your router, it won’t do anything.
Hi,
does anyone have a solution for this?
Here are my settings and blocked packets per week!!!:

As you can see Plex is still broadcasting…

Richard
