Discover - Linking to content within other apps is currently unavailable

Ok I am back, for now at least. Did a complete overhaul on my Home Theater. All new and shiny toys. :slight_smile: So, I figure I come and see what Plex has been up to, and the new Discovery option is of interest. So here am I.

Could not find much on this topic so suspect that I am doing something wrong. However, I did review the setting mentioned here under the ‘Samsung’ section and I do have a supported Samsung SmartTV… The Plex Web app works fine, and it jumps right to the content on whatever streaming services that is on.

On any of my Samsung SmartTVs, 2021 and newer, I get ‘Linking to content within other apps is currently unavailable’. I understand that this is in beta, but I would suspect the Plex would target the market share of SmartTVs, especially newer ones.

Please advise.

From what I was told Samsung specifically does not allow deeplinking, Also though it is the same app on multiple brands, all of them handle deeplinks differently and we are still figuring out how to tackle that best for those brands that would allow it.

This page only shows which models have a Plex app available.
That’s a wholly different thing.
