Hey guys!
I am new here but only in terms of activity
I follow PLEX development for many years now and this week i decided that Plex is growed up and it is competent enough already so I can give it a shoot and to switch my home entertainment infrastructure to it
Unfortunately, in terms of audio i realized that it’s to early for Plex/PMP/Plexamp to replace my existing setup Roon + LMS (mainly to provide extra conectivity and play options to my audio infrastructure). But … It’s look promising and i will keep an eye for suro . I will share my audio related thoughts in dedicated thread.
My suggestion regarding the video playback in native 4K using the new player (I ma not sure is this a future request or bug report) is as follow:
Playback Settings ->Display Mode:
Original - Kind of OK if this is the idea. You use the stream resolution aplaying it to full screen and if the stream rez is not 16/9 the resoult is actually the same as Stretch. My understandig here is that in case of non 16/9 ratio it must be same as Letterbox and not as Stretch
Letterbox - OK
Stretch - OK
Zoom - not OKAY! It’s equivalent/same as Stretch! Must be zoom but based on Letterbox so to remove the black bars and to keep proper pictur ratio.
By native 4K i mean realy 4K and not viewport of 1080p where everything is OK
Server: Version 4.47.3 (Linux)
Plex for Android (in TV mode): 8.11.0.22186 (a1b8a7fb)
