Display tv-show extras for shows, seasons and episodes in all apps

Another vote cast. Just started re-ripping all my media after investing in a bunch of additional storage, and mightly disappointed that the HTPC client (which I assume uses plex-web under the hood) doesn’t support season extras :frowning:

I would also like to see this be completed at the TV level, particularly on Apple TV (my main viewing method) but also for other tv viewers as well. It’s really frustrating to have to use either double the storage space (so that season level items currently show up at the series level) or to have some items that just don’t show up at all on my preferred viewing method.

Another bump for this.
Very frustrating to see my extras in the Roku and Android app (and I assume iOS) but not on HTPC, Smart TV apps or even the web version.
Please can we get feature parity between ALL platforms!

On my WebOS TV, I can start an episode extra on my phone, and cast it to the TV if the Plex app is open on the TV!

Just a friendly bump as while I like to spend time sorting my extras out, would be nice to be able to play them on my Apple TV.

Is there any update for this feature.

There’s been a massive update to a number of clients incl. Plex HTPC, Xbox, Playstation and various SmartTV models, adding support for episode and season level tv extras.

I’ve updated the reference / status quo in the summary post above.

Thank you, Plex!!

Nice!! (and finally!) Hopefully this is an indicator that this is meant to be a ecosystem wide design decisions so the rest of the clients are going to follow suit soon.

For me, I use the windows client and android/google TV (Nvidia shield) which are both still lacking the season extra still so I continue to have to keep multi-season disc content all piled up at the show level to be able to see them.

Any plans to support AppleTV per Season extras?

When will Plex Web, Plex for Mac/Windows/Linux support seasons and episodes extras?

Is it enabled to allow TV Show extras under a “Specials” folder, aka Season 0?

I have all the Season subfolders working for Season # Deleted Scenes and whatnot. They are properly showing up under their respective Season.

However, extra features that belong in the Special/Season 0 folder are not being displayed.

My specific scenario is for Battlestar Galactica (2003). I have deleted scenes for the Mini-series, Razor, and The Plan. All of those items are under Specials in TVDB for S00E**. But the folder structure of…
/Battlestar Galactica/Specials/Deleted Scenes/Battlestar Galactica Mini-Series deleted scenes.mkv
as well as respective Behind The Scenes in their folder is not showing up.

Am I setting it up incorrectly?

Thanks very much.

For reference. I’m using the latest…
Plex HTPC for Windows version 1.36.1.3638-68ff8a18
and
Plex Media Server version 1.31.2.6810

Just tested this with some test files on a specials season of mine.
The files are properly recognized as extras for the specials (season) as well as special episodes.

I take it you refreshed the metadata for the show for Plex to pick up the newly added extras?

I did a few times. Also just tried rebooting my server that Plex Server is running on as well. No dice.

I’ve attached a couple pictures of my file structure and what I’m seeing in Plex HTPC.

One and a half year now waiting for Season and Episode Extras on Windows or at least web. Sigh.
Every few days a new Plex Update from Windows Store. Hope rises. But no, still no needed and long awaited new feature. Developers must live in a different dimension or universe.

To test it for you, I dropped a Featurettes folder with one file into my BSG Season 00 and the same into Season 01 folder.

  • Doesn’t show up on my Sheild, Windows or Web interface (as still expected apparently).
  • On my Android phone app it shows up in both Season 00 and Season 01.
  • On the HTPC app on Windows it does NOT show in Season 00 but DOES show in Season 01.

So it would appear there may be a bug with the HTPC app and the Specials section. Perhaps whoever was working on that app didn’t think to enable it there as Specials is already meant to be the holding spot for deleted scenes, featurettes etc at the top level of the folder.

I concur. Checked on my android app and it does show up under Specials after the bottom of the episode list. Is there anywhere we can issue a bug report?

Creating a post is the only bug reporting I’m aware of but given the issue is specific to this feature, this thread is probably as good a place as any for them to note it. Perhaps @tom80H can get this issue reported to the relevant parties.

It stinks that this doesn’t work yet. My PC can’t see episode or season level TV extras. My iphone can, but I dont watch much tv on it.
So now I have to dump them all into one “Specials” folder and when this functionality finally comes, I’ll have to rename files and move them around.

Please Please Please bring this functionality to all clients.

I’m all for this.

Still waiting for full Android TV support. Would love to see this working soon!

Features were generally very slow to be standardized across platforms but now they are on skeleton / life-support staff so I wouldn’t get your hopes up that this (or anything else) will be finally resolved anytime ‘soon’ if ever.
