Distorted video when using subtitles and Plex for LG WebOS

Continuing the discussion from Totally distorted output when using Plex for LG and subtitles are enabled:

Server Version#: 1.18.2.2058

The other topic (linked above) was closed as there were supposedly other threads on the issue, but after a fair bit of searching I couldn’t find them. If there are some that are the same to this issue, please do let me know.

Also suffering the same issue with a WebOS LG TV: when playing back some content with subtitles, the video is completely distorted (exactly the same as the image in the other closed thread). Disabling subtitles causes the video issues to go away, however re-enabling the subtitles brings the completely distorted video back.

This only happens with the LG WebOS TV (49SM8600PLA) device, all other players (macOS, Windows) work without issue.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Problem with Intel driver and hardware accelerated transcoding.

Thanks so much for this, I was wondering whether it was actually server side transcoding issue.
