DLNA server "no files found" Xbox One media player app

For the life of me I can’t get my Mac Plex server to show any files on the Xbox Media Player app. I just see everywhere online that’s it’s easy to set up, but I’ve been at it for about an hour and none of my libraries are showing up, there’s just a random “Videos”, “Music”, and “Photos” folders showing, all with nothing in them. Both the xbox and the server are on the same network. I can see the libraries in the xbox Plex app just fine however, but since I can’t use the Plex app to change my background, that app is not really an option. Can anyone give me a hand with this?

Did you enable the DLNA server? If not, go to Settings -> General -> DLNA and tick the “Enable the DLNA server” checkbox. Can’t remember, but you may need to restart Plex for it to take effect. Beyond that I’m not really sure though, since I do not use it. I think I tried it once, but the UI for DLNA is quite lacking.

You could also use the Plex for Xbox One app, it’s free.

Yes, it’s been enabled. I’m not using the Plex app because I’d like to be able to change my background without needing a USB drive. I did get the media player to show the server, but it’s not showing any of my libraries, just says there are no files found.
