Dear all,
So - I'm very much new to Plex, so please forgive any basic questions.
I'm running a Plex server from a Raspberry Pi, which I know isn't ideal. However, a Pi has previously managed to happily house a DLNA server which was accessible by the Xbox One, without any problems.
So - I see from the looking round that the Xbox One app's very much not great, but is being worked on. Fair enough, if it's coming soon, I can be patient. I hit a number of problems with the app - particularly a skipping ahead issue which I think is the result of the Pi not being able to handle the transcoding required.
BUT, I THOUGHT the DLNA server in effect sends the file to the Xbox one for playing. So demand on the Pi would be fairly low. However, when I try and play a higher quality MKV via DLNA (using the media player app, not the plex one), it gets part way through, then stops with a "can't play" message.
I'm trying to change the DLNA client preferences to put more of the strain on the Xbox One - but I'm not sure I've got the idea settings. Anyone know how to do this? I'm not sure if I'm reaching the limits of the Pi's admittedly limited power, or if there's a setting wrong somewhere.
