DNS problems, port 53. Setting up ATV with plex

Trying to set up Plex with a Mac running OSX 10.9.4 and Apple TV 3

 

Following the guide found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IeYlb9aCuC8

 

When I run the  sudo ./PlexConnect.py command, I get "Failed to create socket on UDP port 53: [Errno 48] Address already in use"

 

Did some searching on here and found nothing that solved my issue thus far...

 

Whats interesting though, Trailers app on the ATV opens to pled and I'm able to watch my content. It says that trailers are not available if I try to play something from the channels tab in plex..

 

Any help?

i was able to stop a process in activity monitor called mDNSresponder and then rebooted the computer. After that, I was able to successfully complete the setup via terminal with plexconnect.  Horray! (sorry for the post after all)

Everything but channels are working on the ATV3. Channels either gives me an error that it cannot load content when I select a video. Or, it errors that "Trailers" are unavailable while trying to view channels plex content. 

All of my native media from the computer seems to be working

Any idea on the channels? They are working on my phone and desktop

In the PlexConnect log, it states that the DNS server can not be started since port 53 is already in use…

Whatever python script is running a dns server on your mac needs to be stopped to run PlexConnect… If the python script that is running port 53 is PlexConnect than you may be trying to run PlexConnect twice and the second instance is throwing that error. Restart your computer, run lsof again and verify that port 53 is not in use.

Thanks for the reply. It seems like its working fine now. I have access to my media from plex on the ATV. What I can't do is access "channels" content from plex. 

All functions on the ATV are still working as well.

Which "channel(s)" do not work?

Ive tried using CBS, ABC, South Park, Comedy central etc. None are working on the ATV. All work on Mac and iphone.

Im able to see the channels in the ATV, able to navigate their content, seasons and episodes. But once I click on an episode and hit play, i get the error: An error occurred loading this content. Try again later. 

My iphone and mac have no issues with the channels. I can even start an episode of something on my phone and airplay it to the ATV perfectly. But Im not able to access them directly through the ATV
