This is part of a bigger question, but figured I’d start small
Are channels and plugins the same thing, now? I’ve got an iTunes Plugin which disappears if I disable the iTunes Channel, so I guess they are, yet when I first tested this out a year ago there was definitely a channel section and I’m sure the GUI was better.
Furthermore, all the docs and info still reference a “channel”, but even if I install other plugins, the only way I can access them is via Plugins - there is never any Channel section.
How can I find this said itunes plugin? not listed when I browse plugins. Enabled itunes in server settings. But never a way to see “a plugin” for itunes.
Allow a local iTunes library to be available as an “iTunes Channel” alongside your other Channels. You will need to restart the Plex Media Server for any change to take effect.
And more importantly:
iTunes library XML path
You can enter the full path to the main XML file for your iTunes library. This is typically only necessary if the iTunes library is in a non-standard location.
Note : From iTunes Version 12.2 and later the library XML file is not created by iTunes. You must enable it in iTunes advanced preferences. iTunes - Official Apple Support
What could be different? I have a fresh windows 10 and plex and itunes install. Library stored under c:\media\music. All files and folders renamed to match preferred structure. Tags updated in all recommended fields.
