Hi I was able to watch Plex on my laptop without a pass but today it is saying I need a pass to view items. Is this correct or an error. Thanks
No, you don’t need a Plex Pass (or Remote Watch Pass) to watch media from a local server in the same network.
This can however happen, e.g. if your network setup makes Plex consider your connection is actually remote.
It’s not about what kind of device you have it’s about where the device is.
Is the laptop at home? No Pass needed.
Did you take the laptop on the road? Pass needed.
Hi thanks for your replies. We are using the laptop at home. Does anyone have any advice on how I can get it to work please. I’m not great at IT so need simple instructions if anyone is able to help
