[DO NOT UPGRADE TO QTS 4.4.1.1117!] Disastrous QNAP firmware upgrade, Plex Web GUI no longer loads

3 posts were split to a new topic: QNAP no setup Vizard

So, I wanted to share that QTS 4.4.1 has been rock solid for me and I just updated to Plex 1.1.18.2058 and saw this thread while posting about an unrelated issue.

I’m in the same boat with wingcomm. Only issue I had after QTS 4.4.1 is that plex seemed to hang, but shutting it off and back on has it working like a charm. I’ve done two plex server updates since then, also with no issues.

Anyone already upgraded to the newest QTS 4.4.1.1146? As far as I got from the latest replies here it should be safe now to upgrade.
I’m still stuck on QTS 4.3.6 due to several reported Plex issues, but I want to update now to be on safe side regarding Security Fixes for QTS.

I’m on the most current firmware, and having zero issues. Kind of?

Everything connects and play fine. But when viewing films with subtitles on the PS3/PS4 app it jumbles the video. Doesn’t matter if it’s an mp4 or mkv, if the subs are external (.srt) or selected in the container, is scrambles the video. Videos play fine in the chrome browser or through my android cell phone app, so I don’t know if it’s a QNAP server issue, or a PS3/PS4 app issue.

Everything used to work fine, so I don’t know where the issue started. I’m leaning it’s the QNAP PLEX software since it effects the PS3 app, and it’s not been updated in years AFAIK. Again, everything worked fine up until the past month or so.

I’musing the most current (Dec5) Plex software found on the Plex website, as opposed to the most recent on the QNAP app update thing.

Any update on this?

The only update I have is I’m very overloaded right now.
We just figured out TMDB last night.

I’m about to have my bi-weekly meeting.
I’ll post here with update about what I think will happen (and be good) from that meeting.

Just to throw my hat into the ring:

TVS1282T running 4.4.1.1146 and Plex Server Version 1.18.3.2129 runs all okay. Full access, no problems.

INFO:

I just completed initial testing of QTS 4.4.2 with NVIDIA_GPU_DRV 3.0.4 for PMS 1.17.0 and above with nVidia GPUs at QNAP’s request.

I have not performed extensive testing due to lack of available media but can confirm the test GP106 (GTX 1060) does again hardware transcode in zero-copy mode.
