Hi !
Plex was working until I reset my QNAP TS-251 (Firmware 4.4.1.1117).
After a fresh reinstall of the NAS, I installed Plex 1.16.6 on App Center, but when I opened it, I get an http error… So I manually downloaded and installed 1.18.2, and it still didn’t work. I can access it through HTTP instead of HTTPS, but server is not detected or I get the “No soup for you”
I’ll wait for an update, or a trick to force HTTP server claim…
I was about to buy lifetime license for TV features, I reconsidered it
can you downgrade the firmware back to 4.3.6.1070?
Just for balance, I’m running a QNAP TS-451 with 4.4.1117 & PMS 1.18.2.2058 and not seeing any obvious issues with the setup of the server, or the web client for PMS.
I’ve taken the liberty to split your post into a separate thread, since this most likely ain’t related to firmware, but to your setup
So let’s go through your issues one by one, and for future ref, please keep one issu pr. thread
Why, when we advice against it?
When a server is not claimed, https isn’t up running, so simply use http instead to claim
Ref: Qnap faq.....read me first!
This could be due to:
- not using private address space for both the server, as well as the client claiming it
- Server and workstation claiming it, is not on the same IP net
- Browser used has some plugins, that is blocking the detection of the server

If I had a dime for every time people are saying this, both Plex and I would have been rich
Finally got it working with last Plex and QTS, but with a new user account !
Also had to add plex.direct to allowed local hosts in DnsMasq.
But I don’t really understand why since everything did work with the exact same environment and versions prior to fresh reinstall…
One last question, in cas I get a Plex Pass and this occurs again, is it possible to move Plex Pass to another user account ?
Anyway, thanks for support
As a golden rule, a PP belongs to a user
And when said, what you did was a workaround, and not a solution, so next time, we simply need to work a little bit first
I spoke too soon. My PMS server (on QNAP 4.4.1117 & PMS 1.18.2.2058) is now facing the web client issues reported.
Also hitting issues with iOS devices
PMS logs directory in a zip file, right after reproducing please
Web client issues appear to have gone away with the latest release (PMS 1.18.3.2111) that I’ve applied today.
I haven’t had a chance to test the iOS 12.4.3 device…or iOS 13.2.3 camera upload issues
