Doctor Who: classic and new (how to name)

Server Version#: 1.24.5.5173

I cannot get the library to recognize the new (2005 and later) Doctor Who seasons. I tried multiple folder structures and naming techniques. My latest, for “simplicity”, I use the following structure:

     \Media
          \TV Shows
               \Doctor Who (classic)
                    \season 01
                         Doctor Who (1963) - s01e01.mp4
               \Doctor Who
                    \season 01
                         Doctor Who (2005) - s01e01 - Rose.mp4

Start w/ aligning the show’s names to the repositories used by Plex.

TV Shows <- the folder linked to your tv-show library
Doctor Who <- the classic show
    Season 01
      Doctor Who - s01e01.mp4
      ...

  Doctor Who (2005)
    Season 01
      Doctor Who (2005) - s01e01 - Rose.mp4
      ...

The Plex TV Series agent is happy to use the year in a tv-show folder’s name… so you can also include 1963 in the classic show

TV Shows
  Doctor Who (1963)
    Season 01
      Doctor Who (1963) - s01e01.mp4
      ...

If Plex has trouble distinguishing both you can add the an identifier from one of the repositories:

Show TMDb ID TVDb ID IDMb ID
Doctor Who (classic) 121 76107 tt0056751
Doctor Who (2005) 57243 78804 tt0436992

Except for IMDb, simply add the prefix for the source (e.g. tmdb- or tvdb-).

TV Shows
  Doctor Who (1963) {tvdb-76107}
    Season 01
      Doctor Who (1963) - s01e01.mp4
      ...

  Doctor Who (2005) {tmdb-57243}
    Season 01
      Doctor Who (2005) - s01e01 - Rose.mp4

This works! You are a wonderful person and I hope all good things come your way!
