Hello there, I have the newest DVDs of Doctor Who. Although the BBC is calling it season 1 I thought it should be season 14. That doesn’t work though.
Does anybody know how I should number it?
Help with the Christmas Special numbering would also be appreciated.

Look up your series at both TheMovieDB.org and TheTVDB.com These are the sources for tv show metadata for Plex.
There are 3 series:
The original classic starting in 1963 Doctor Who - TheTVDB.com
the reboot starting in 2005 https://thetvdb.com/series/doctor-who-2005#seasons
and yet another reboot in 2023 (or 2024, depending on whether you are considering specials) Doctor Who (2023) - TheTVDB.com
If you mean the newest reboot from 2023, you need to create a completely new folder and start counting the episodes from 1 again.
It is now possible to use all of the various episode orderings from TheTVDB in Plex. But you should look closely at the Specials season, which is sometimes missing/incomplete in the DVD ordering.
You can only pick one ordering per show.
