Does package from Plex.tv automatically update (Synology DSM 7.1)

I installed Plex on my DS920+ from the Package download from the Plex.tv website (not the beta package in the store). My question is: Does this version update itself, or will I have to periodically update the package manually? If the latter, is there a writeup on the process? It does have a “Check for update” button, so I’m hopeful it works just like my Windows 7/8/10 Plex servers have where they let me know there’s an update and I just click button when it’s convenient to update.

No automatic updates on Synology NAS.

Check for Update will let you know when an update is available. It checks automatically, you do not have to click the button.

Then download the update and manually install via Synology Package Center. Install the new version over the existing version. No need to uninstall, stop PMS, etc.
