Does Plex automatically update my movie (folder) library when I add (rip) a new movie to it?

Good Afternoon,
I’m a new user and have a question regarding my movie library update in Plex.
Does Plex update the library every time I add a new movie to it? Or should I do something in order to update the library in Plex?

This is possible - at least when the media storage is locally attached to the Plex server machine.
With Media storage on a network share, it may or may not work.

But before asking this, I’d really check if you’ve adhered to the file naming recommendation for Plex. Very often it is wrong file naming or wrong folder hierarchy which prevents recognition of new media.
