It doesn’t seem like it.
Like other, I’m not a fan of the new UI change. In fact it’s hard to call it much of a change. They took the menu items on the left and swapped them with the top menu items. Then did something remarkably stupid, which was to put a menu in-between the grid and the top menu. Which means its even more clicks/ traversing to get to what you want.
What is the point to this new UI other than to make it HARDER to use.
Seriously, I want the old interface back.
Really? That’s all you have to say. Have you even taken the time to try this new interface out. It’s a total mess. What is going on here?
The new UI has been in “Preview” for several months. If you’re not a frequenter of the forum or Reddit, you likely missed it and it was a surprise to you.
So yes… this is what you get after all the feedback that was provided. Honestly… it isn’t too much different from the first iteration we saw. They were about to remove Music and Photos, but luckily reversed course there. Otherwise… what you see is what they wanted to give you.
Blame the folk upstairs for the directives. The development staff is super shorthanded and are likely working as hard as they can.
Yeah, it had to be the folks upstairs, unless there was a lot of people on the forums asking for a UI update. There might have been a couple things I thought could have been better in the last UI, but for the most part it was useable and I was happy with it.
Why they felt the need to implement these changes, beyond making it look “modern” is lost on me. Honestly, if their only motivation is to chase after the look of the major streaming providers then someone at Plex needs some counseling.
Yeah, there were improvements to make to the old one but it wasn’t a UX nightmare
or live by the motto of “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”
PLEX ENSHITIFICATION continues on.. us Apple users have had this crap update for a bit now.. my Jellyfin server is yearning to get some usage it seems. time to start migrating my users over and getting that remote access stuff setup.
