I have android TV and Plex pass but the live TV option won’t show up.
Have you reviewed any of the Live TV FAQ pages?
https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/115007689648-Watching-Live-TV
Yes, there is no mention of live TV not being available on Plex server for Windows. I have the DVR setup with a hd homerun connect. I just can’t get the client android TV apps to show live TV.
The FAQ states you need Plex Server 1.7.2 or greater, and a true Android TV Plex app (not a regular mobile Android app), in order to use Live TV. Do you have that?
ok, that could be an issue, I am currently running server version 1.5.6.3790… but it says its up to date! I have a sony android tv, plus an NVidia shield. I did have it all working on the shield as a server, however I wanted a more powerful server for transcoding.

You need to make sure ‘Plex Pass Downloads’ is on when you go to the download link for Plex Media Server. Or make sure your ‘Update Channel’ is set to ‘Plex Pass’ from your General server settings page. DVR/Live TV is not available in the general release. The current Plex Pass version (as of now) is 1.7.3.
Turn on Plex Pass downloads.
Thank you very much for your support…Now sorted. I am new to plex so hadn’t realised this setting for the windows version. The NVidia shield server version updated automatically.

My PMS stopped reporting updates to me at version 1.5.5.3634. After nearly a month went by, I checked the Plex website and discovered my PMS server was behind on updates. Perhaps you’ve encountered the same issue…? No problems with PMS update reports prior to that version, or since I installed version 1.6.1.3722.
I’m running PMS on Windows Server 2012 R2 Essentials.
