With Microsoft rolling out Dolby Vision gaming on new generation consoles, does the Plex app also get to play DV videos?
Is there a limitation similar to the one on AppleTV (which can only play Profile 5, used mostly on streaming and not in rips)?
I really hope that this comes to fruition as it would be very nice to have especially since the series x is far better at playing higher bitrate files as compared to the Shield TV.
Also a side note, not even the built in blu ray app can play Dolby Vision so it could be something that has yet to be implemented on a system level for movies yet.

Great to hear progress on this.
Most of my DV content is profile 8 though. Is it technically feasible to support those too? Or is there a hardware limit (up to profile 5) similar the AppleTV?
There’s currently a hardware limitation.
